Certificate II in Transport and Distribution (Coastal Maritime Operations - Coxswain)
About this Course This three week course is aimed at a person wishing to operate a small fishing or trading vessel in sheltered or protected waters. The course is designed to provide students with knowledge, skills and competences, which qualify them to command a vessel less than 12 metres in length up to Inshore Limits and to perform the duty of an engineer on a vessel with engines less than 250kw up to Inshore Limits. Students learn skills in nautical navigation, maintenance and engineering, marine radio operation, first aid, and safety at sea. |

Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Coastal Maritime Operations - Master Class 5)
AMI is developing a model to meet the currently proposed Boat Master which is forecasted to replace the Master Class 5 qualification when the One National Jurisdiction Regulations are introduced (see further details under Development)
About This Course This six week course is aimed at a person wishing to operate a less than 24-metre vessel up to offshore limits (within 100 nautical miles). The course is designed to provide students with knowledge, skills and competencies, which qualify them to be a Master of a fishing and/or trading vessel less than 20 metres up to offshore limits (within 200 nautical miles). This course has a strong practical emphasis with students undertaking vessel manoeuvring, stability, navigation, refuelling etc. |
