True reality training and optimum education environment
The full Mission Bridge Simulator (approved for training) will be used to conduct practical training programs in bridge operations including high speed navigation.
The system comprises a complete system of hardware and software integrated on a ship's console with 120 degree vision on 3x42" LCD monitors. The simulator uses BoatSim and ShipSim Software and incorporates the latest development of new BoatSim ship models. The system simulates: Boat Handling, Navigation Radar, (ARPA) Automatic Radar Plotting Aid, (ECDIS) Electronic Chart Display Information System, Aids, Real Ship Controls-(Steering and Telegraph Model) and Intership VHF & Telephone System. The system also incorporates Full Mission GMDSS Simulator integration. Students will step into the helm and take control of the Bridge for both Big and Small Ships which are entirely modelled in 3D with multi sound to create a real life learning environment. This outstanding learning experience equips students with true industry knowledge and skills. The learning experience is enjoyable and leads to better retention of information. Unique maritime deck scenarios have been loaded into the system, designed by our Master Mariners. Truly in a class of their own, these scenarios have been developed to assess the trouble shooting and problem solving competencies of our students to authenticate them as first class seafarers. When this system is fully developed, tested and approved it will go "on-line" and become fully intergrated with the training schedules in progress at the time.
